SOUTHERN FAMILY
2002   14 minutes, DV, color

It's Christmas in Dixie and time for the entire clan to gather at Meemaw and Nannie's house. Keith Wilson's Southern Family documents the people and festivities surrounding this annual family event at the home of his grandmother and 92 year-old great-grandmother. Viewers find them-selves involved in an unexpected, intense and heart-warming story that spans three generations and questions popular notions of what it means to be Southern.

Southern Family
is a tribute to two Southern women whose love of family is unconditional and is a demonstration to the fact that acceptance of differences is possible. It is Keith Wilson's first video to be shown outside of living rooms.
